The European Union Blockchain Observatory and Forum released their latest thematic report, called “EU Blockchain Ecosystem Developments”. The report presents the latest updates and developments within the EU blockchain ecosystem and discusses the future of blockchain in Europe and globally. This is the first of a series of reports that will be published addressing selected topics by the European Commission priorities.
Central Bank Digital Currency in an Open Economy
Various recent studies have examined some of the macroeconomic and financial stability questions raised by the introduction of a CBDC and modeled their implications. However, these studies focussed mainly on the closed-economy dimension. This working paper focusses instead on the open-economy impacts of a CBDC which are significant and far-reaching for policy and welfare.
Decentralized Social Media Ecosystem Review by Bluesky
Twitter is funding a small independent team of up to five open source architects, engineers, and designers to develop an open and decentralised standard for social media. The Bluesky team recently released an overview of the decentralised social ecosystem. The overview looks at protocols, applications, and central topics.
